There are many ways to make dessert wines, but this course primarily focuses on the wines made with the method of removing water from the grapes to concentrate the sugar in the juice. You will learn some basics about dessert wine, all of the many varied ways to make it, and some of the unique history and traditions behind each method. Included is an in-depth tasting of 5 different dessert wines, along with instructions on how to serve it and some common pairing suggestions. The appreciation of fine spirits can go beyond wine. Whisky (or whiskey) contains many of the same skills and craftsmanship of wine. In this course you'll get a brief history of whisky, learn about the production process, and get an overview of the main types and regions of whisky. Included in the class is an in-depth guided tasting of four (due to high ABV) different types of whisky.
